P.T.S.D. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Hello. Good morning. This week we'll discuss Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

There are different causes of P.T.S.D. There is warfare, spousal abuse, rape, accidental fatalities, etc.

P.T.S.D. is not a normal depression, or stress factor. It can be severe. It is somewhat curable over time with therapy, prayer, and support from either family friends or community.  Some of the symptoms go away over a long period of time. In some cases, it can take a lifetime to heal. Depends on the level of trauma one has experienced. I know because I have P.T.S.D. I have had it for over 28 years. It gets easier, and manageable over time. at least for me it has. I still can't deal with over stress levels, but I cope.

Here are some of the symptoms of P.T.S.D.

Flash backs: Re-experiencing trauma

Hypervigilance: Constituently on the lookout.

Startle response: Exagerated reactions.

Depression: Persistent negative moods. Chronic pain: Physical discomfort.

Panic: Intense anxiety.

Derealization Feeling detached or unreal.

Nightmares: Upsetting dreams.

Avoidance: Staying away from triggers.

P.T.S.D.  can be treatable, but someone needs to realize they do need help. therapy can help, but you get what you put into it. It takes courage and an inner strength to deal with this kind of mental disease. Mental diseases aren't to be dismissed or set aside There are also meds that can help as well.

There are different ways to reduce stress factors in life. There are those who believe in playing golf, or some sort of sport can reduce stress. A hot bath with either bobbles, or lavender Epsom salt tablets can help. A luncheon out with your close friends can help. Therapy, or meds can help as well. What are some of your ways you destress in your life?
